The island can be easily reached by jet-foils or steamer either from Sorrento of Naples ( approx. 4 hours sea miles from sorrento or approx. 11 sea-miles from Naples).
The visit of the island takes a full day (approx 7 or 8 hours).
It starts from the ancient village of Anacapri where the interesting foundation of Villa S.Michele (The wealthy residence of Axel Munthe )
Will be visited. It continues with a stop at the famous “Piazzetta” and a pleasant stroll to the “Augustus Gardens” and “Villa Jouvis” (the emperor’s residence).
The famous Blue Grotto (depending on the sea-conditions)
Or a boat-trip around the island, to see the very well known “Faraglioni Rocks” ,
the symbol of the Blue island, is recommended.
